Description

Comfortable, newly refurbished bedrooms, A la Carte restaurant, ample car parking. Within easy reach of many attractions. Great location - Off A41/A49 Elegant, private function room.

The Dodington Lodge Hotel is located around six hundred yards from the centre of Whitchurch. So it is well placed to walk to events within the town, but far enough out to ensure a relaxed atmosphere away from the bustle and noise.

Accommodation
The hotel was developed from building that was originally built as a private house, so, rather than ten uniform bedrooms, each room is unique in size, layout and shape.

From our spacious room One with its king size bed, compact room Six, through to family room Ten, which nestles in the roof, each has its own character.

All rooms are ensuite and are twin or double, except rooms eight and ten, which are larger family rooms. The rooms are located on the first and second floors and are only accessible via stairs.

Each room features the facilities that you would expect from a 3 star: TV, Direct Dial Telephone, Tea/Coffee Making Facilities, Radio Alarm Clock.

Location
Given its excellent road links and reasonable rail service, the hotel makes an ideal base for north Shropshire and south Cheshire for either business or pleasure, for an overnight stay to a full week.

The towns of Chester, Shrewsbury and Telford are only 30 minutes drive away. With the surrounding Cheshire/Shropshire countryside, it is easy to see why Whitchurch is one of the oldest continually inhabited settlements in the country.

Dining
The hotel serves a range of food, from Lite Bites (lunchtime only) and Bar Snacks served Monday to Saturday, through to dinner in the restaurant from 6pm every evening (5.30 on Sunday).

The main dinner menu, which changes 3 or 4 times a year, is supplemented by a 'specials' menu at the weekend, 'Two Courses for Ten Pounds' menu Monday to Wednesday evenings, while Thursday night is 'Steak Night'.

On Sunday lunchtime we serve a carvery from 12-3pm.

Residents and their guests can enjoy drinks throughout the day, either in their room or in the Bar Lounge. A large area which is non-smoking, though smoking guests are still catered for in the bar.

Chester Suite
Many people who stay at the hotel do so in order to attend a function in our Chester Suite. This multifunction space is equipped with its own bar, lounge/soft seating area, dance floor and doors leading to the rear lawn which is secluded from the main hotel. The Chester Suite hosts everything from Family Celebrations, Birthdays, Wedding Breakfasts, Anniversaries, Christenings, through to meetings, presentations and seminars. For corporate work, the suite can be set up for classroom, boardroom, cabaret or theatre style seating.

Located on the edge of town with ample free on site parking, the hotel makes an ideal location for business.

Leisure
The Dodington Lodge Hotel makes a great base for your leisure break:

Canal Boating: An overnight stay before and after you take a boating holidays with Viking Afloat, from their nearby marina.

Golfing: Stay a few days and enjoy a selection of the finest courses in the area. For smaller groups or societies, we can accommodate you and arrange for 'Tee' times at local courses.

Action: For the fearless stay at the hotel then venture forward to the Shropshire Rally School or the Parachute Centre, both located at Tilstock Airfield and both serious fun.

Walking/Cycling: The hotel is a great base for exploring the countryside of Shropshire and Cheshire, including the Llangollen canal and the Sandstone Trail.

Accessibility
Unfortunately, all the bedrooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floor and are only accessible via stairs at this time. Also, while the toilet facilities are on the ground floor we do not have a disabled toilet. We are currently in the process of applying for a new extension to allow us to address these problems. However as the building is Grade II listed, this is proving a slower process than we had hoped.

Please contact and we will do our best to assist you with your arrangements.
