Description
This Georgian Rectory has been home of the rectors since it was built in 1804.The last 9 years the rectory has been through a complete renovation programme and has been restored to its former glory, now a stunning Old Rectory transformed into a Country House Hotel standing in 3.5 acres of secluded grounds.
As you enter the Old Rectory hotel though the Georgian pillars you are greeted with a splendid staircase. The restful friendly ambiance of this beautiful Georgian house sweeps you away immediately. Whether you are visiting for business or pleasure we can offer comfort and quality in an elegant Georgian setting.
All rooms are named after the rectors of Wem and are individual with their own shape, size and character, decorated to luxury standard. All rooms have DVD players, Wireless broadband internet access, ironing boards and trouser press, courtesy tray, hairdryers and radio alarm.
The tranquil drawing room or bar with its tapestry style interiors is perfect for sitting and relaxing whilst enjoying the views of the beautiful grounds, abundance of flowers, fruit trees and an original folly. Our warm and enticing restaurant offers freshly prepared traditional cuisine with an international flare.
The Old Rectory hotel and restaurant is a perfect location for all occasions and seasons from weddings to meeting, coffees to dinners. Here you will find a hotel with ample car parking set within its own grounds creating a tranquil setting. Smoking is only permitted in the bar, all our bedrooms and other public areas are non-smoking. Situated a 10 minute walk from the centre of the old market town of Wem. For sightseeing and exploring local to Hawkstone Golf Club and Follies, Meres of Ellesmere, Shropshire Union Canals, Ironbridge Gorge, Severn Valley Railway and only a few miles to the welsh border. For history and shopping we are local to the historic medieval towns of Shrewsbury and Chester. 1 mile to the local railway station offering direct lines and good links to Shrewsbury, Crewe, Birmingham and London. Local bus stop opposite hotel going to Shrewsbury and Whitchurch.

Directions
From A49 take B5063 to Wem. On approach to Wem turn left at the T junction alongside the church. Take the 3rd turning right onto Lowe Hill Road and the hotel is on the left.
