Description
Our home, The Rowans, is situated in peaceful North Shropshire, on the southern approach road into the small market town of Wem.
After a warm welcome you can relax with a cup of tea or coffee in the lounge or if you prefer in your own room.
The accommodation comprises of:
• One Double Room with a super king size bed.
• One Twin Room
• Both complete with Tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV and broadband (wireless) connection.
• A shared spacious bathroom with a large bath including shower compartment. Wash basin and toilet. We also provide a full range of toiletries
• A spacious lounge with Digital TV and log burner for those cooler evenings
• Our garden room where breakfast is served
• A beautiful garden to enjoy
We offer a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for you to enjoy a leisurely breakfast served between 8am and 9.30am in our garden room.
Enjoy our full English breakfast comprising of
• Fruit juice
• Tea or Coffee
• Cereals or Fresh Fruit
• Toast
Followed by:
• Grilled bacon
• Grilled sausage
• Grilled tomatoes
• Eggs either fried, scrambled or poached
• Mushrooms
• Beans
• Fresh bread
Bacon, sausage and eggs are all locally sourced.
For those of you who enjoy the vegetarian or special diet option please advise us at the time of booking so we can offer you a full menu to meet your needs.
You can then venture out to enjoy the surrounding countryside either into North Wales to explore the beautiful scenery, or more locally say to the Meres and Mosses, You could venture south to the historic town of Shrewsbury, visit the Battlefield 1403 historic site with its museum, historic walk around the battle field, restaurant and farm shop, or the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge and Blists Hill. Enjoy the beautiful countryside, historic sites and abundant nature as you travel through the scenic lanes of North Shropshire. The choices are endless, but do not worry we have full details of many local attractions.
For walkers our home is on the Shropshire Way, and we will provide drying facilities for those days which are less than ideal.
Cyclists are also welcome with many local routes to explore and the national cycle route 31 being nearby. We do have safe lockable storage for bicycles.
Bird watchers may be interested in the Heron Watch at Ellesmere, or Whixall Moss nature reserve, or even the peaceful surroundings of Colemere.
Well behaved dogs are also welcome by prior arrangement.
Wem is a very friendly little Shropshire town; it boasts many facilities including

• Local bus service to Shrewsbury and Whitchurch every hour
• Shops including a supermarket

You enter Wem around a mini roundabout then under a railway bridge, we are on the right in approximately 200m.
From the North
Go through Wem following signs for Shrewsbury, down passed the Mill, in approximately 200m we are on the left.
