Shopping
And for those visitors that would prefer the most active part of their visit to be indulging in a little retail therapy, North Shropshire is blessed with a large and varied range of small independant shops.
As well as the high street shops you'll find old fashioned ironmongers who sell everything, traditional sweet shops - remember Gobstoppers, Pear Drops and Nut Brittle? (your dentist may never forgive you!).
If you want some fresh air, try one of North Shropshire's street markets, some also have farmers markets, indoors markets and reguler antique and craft fairs too. Ellesmere holds its market every Tuesday, Market Drayton has a street market every Wednesday and an indoor market on Saturdays. Wem's market is every Thursday, while Whitchurch holds its market every Friday.
