Description

Ellesmere College Enterprises Limited was formed in 2004 as the commercial arm of Ellesmere College with the role of promoting the School as a venue for hire by third parties.

Set within the 140 acre estate in beautiful Shropshire countryside, Ellesmere College has a wide range of facilities and services available for hire.

Whatever the occasion, it is hard to imagine a setting more charming than Ellesmere College. Quiet contemplative grounds, beautiful architecture, with stunning scenery all combine to create the ideal venue for your event. We also pride ourselves on providing a highly personalised, enthusiastic and friendly service to meet the individual needs of each of our clients. Overall, we deliver a high-quality modern service in a traditional setting.

A professional dedicated team is available to support individuals and organisations using the facilities for day and residential hire. Ellesmere College is licensed to sell alcoholic beverages.

Big School – Dinners, Conferences, Weddings, Exhibitions
This beautiful wood-paneled hall boosts one of only 6 Schulze Organs in the country and its magnificent ceiling is a wonderful example of a hammer beam ceiling. Each year Big School is the chosen location for numerous events and private parties, including concerts, organisations’ dinners and exhibitions, as well as charity balls, weddings and private parties.

The adjacent Cloisters area can accommodate buffet tables and bars whilst the classrooms off Big School can double up as kitchens, syndicate or quiet reading rooms.

Seating for 300 Theatre style and a stage for concerts or top tables.

The Chapel of St. Oswald’s
Ideal for musical performances with seating capacity for up to 450. The School Chapel can also be used by Old Ellesmerians for their weddings.

Dining Room, Dinner Dances, Weddings and Balls
Another large impressive room at Ellesmere College is the School’s Dining Hall which sees over 800 self-served meals served each day from the modern servery area. However, once the pink and white stripped lining is added, the room is transformed into a beautifully dressed location for weddings, balls and private functions. The Dining Hall can accommodate up to 220 guests seated around 6ft tables with space for a dance floor and the band on the stage. Alternatively the Dining Hall can be hired for a formal dinner with 300 guests seated at the long refectory tables.  For smaller celebrations, the rooms can be re-sized with the lining.

Regular events that are held in the Dining Hall are charity balls and family celebrations, whilst during holiday periods meals are served on a daily basis for third party residents.

With a large space immediately outside the Dining Hall, events can be structured so that guests can enjoy drinks being served in the Ante Chapel area before proceeding up the steps to the Dining Hall to dine.  Alternatively, for summer events, pre-dinner receptions can be served on the Terraces, before proceeding down the Main Corridor to the Dining Hall.

Arts Centre – Stage Productions, Exhibitions, Conferences
Over the years Ellesmere College’s dedicated Arts Centre has provided an excellent showcase for many touring theatre groups. The 200 seat auditorium is capable of creating an intimate and captivating atmosphere for many productions. Included in the Arts Centre complex are numerous music practice rooms, a licensed bar area for use prior to and during performance intervals. The Centre has excellent lighting and changing facilities.

The Foyer Area is also regularly used by groups for charity events for exhibitions and by families for children parties.

Conference Room – Conferences/Seminars/Workshops
This warm and light room has the capacity to seat 20 meeting participants and is regularly hired by local businesses and charities for meetings as well as being used by third parties for creative workshops. This room is offered with internet access and the provision of catering through the day from early breakfast meetings to evening sessions.

Lower School – Assembly Hall, Weddings, Birthday and Anniversary Celebrations
The standalone Lower School Building enjoys an enviably location on the Ellesmere College site with easy access, a dedicated parking area and a large grass area.

Lower School gives the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of the North Shropshire countryside and is a favourite location for orchestras from around the Country to spend time playing together whilst in resident at the School. In recent years, the large open-plan has also been turned into a theatre and used as choral rehearsal space, with the classrooms being used as smaller group practice rooms. The area is also ideal for dance and yoga classes.

The Terraces – Dinners & Balls in a Marquee and Summer Picnics
Great location for summer events including those in a marquee with the backdrop of the School and stunning views .

Corporate & Conferences
Whatever the occasion, a small or large off-site meeting or celebration event, we have the setting, the facilities and the people to ensure you host a successful event that your company or organisation requires.
