North Shropshire and the surrounding area hosts many different events throughout the year - catering for all tastes.
You can watch Ellesmere's annual triathlon, where competitors brave the cold waters of the mere (watching from the warmth of the bank is the best idea!); or visit the annual sweet pea show in Wem, filled with amazing colours and smells. Then there's the boat rally in Whitchurch where you can see canal boats dressed to impress; and don't miss the 'Battle of Blore Heath', just outside Market Drayton. It's re-enactment of the first major battle of the war of the Roses.
