A Shropshire tourist attraction and a local car dealership have connected to celebrate sharing pole position in the county’s electric vehicle race. Hawkstone Park in Weston-under-Redcastle, near Shrewsbury, has become the first location in Shropshire to install electric vehicle (EV) charging points while William A Lewis is the county’s first dealership to have fully electric vehicles on general sale.

The Dorothy Clive Garden - a charitable garden trust - is making an urgent appeal for gift items to be donated for ‘Curiosity Corner’ - an area within the gift shop selling pre-loved items donated by the general public and which helps to fund the upkeep of the garden.

FOR many gardening is an enjoyable hobby, but for two greenkeepers with more than 300 acres to look after it is a way of life. Mike Evans and Roger Millington have been looking after the extensive grounds of Hill Valley Spa, Hotel and Golf, including two 18 hole golf courses, since they were teenagers.

Children are admitted to the Dorothy Clive Garden for free this weekend - Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th April 2012 - for a chance to plant their own sun-flower seed and take it home as part of the garden’s ‘Pot and Go’ holiday event.
