Trefonen
The village of Trefonen is situated 3 miles south west of Oswestry.
Orginally founded by the farming community who wanted to live near each other. Over the years mining became a principal industry within the Trefonen village until it closed in 1891 when villagers where returning to tranditional agricultural industries.
Records from 1272 show that this Shropshire village had an obligation to keep the lord's hounds although it is not featured within the Doomsday Book.
Offas Dyke runs through the village with parts of it visable via the Offa's Dyke footpath. The village now boasts a brewery making Offa's brew.
