The Dorothy Clive Garden is hosting Garden Games for children, daily from Saturday 21st July to Sunday 2nd September 2012. There are also educational garden trails for children. This special event admits all children up to the age of 18 for free and accompanying adult visitors at the discounted entrance price of £3.00.

The Follies at Hawkstone, in the heart of Shropshire, is set to host a weekend of medieval re-enactments. Across the August Bank Holiday, the location will become home to living history and blood thirsty battles from Les Miles Des Marches.

AS a teenager, peeling potatoes in a Belgian seaside hotel was Jan Vandewalle’s first taste of hospitality work. Fifteen years later Jan has moved from the kitchen to the restaurant and has just been appointed Restaurant and Bar Manager at Macdonald Hill Valley Spa, Hotel and Golf in Whitchurch.

But last weekend, Follies manager Roger finished his final shift at this unique tourist attraction as he returned to his new home in Wem to begin his retirement.

GOLFERS teed off at Macdonald Hill Valley Spa, Hotel and Golf to raise money for Hope House Children’s Hospices. Sixteen teams from across the country helped to raise almost £9,500 for the charity which runs children’s hospices in Oswestry and in Conwy.
