Chestnut Croft Cottages stand on the edge of stunning woodland which is ideal for dog walking and provides an abundance of wildlife on the doorstep. Walks can be taken along good woodland paths around the nature trail or up Grinshill hill itself (192m) to a vantage point where the hills of Wales and panoramic views of Shropshire can be seen.
The cottages are situated in their own large gardens with parking for two cars in each drive. Chestnut Croft is a traditional local sandstone barns and has been converted to a high standard to provide the following accommodation: large ground floor double bedroom, lounge with access to galleried bedroom, kitchen/diner, bathroom and hallway. The galleried bedroom has a full sized single bed and a good quality camp bed suitable for a child. Northwood Cottage is a newly converted barn with a delightful up to date feel; the building is a traditional sandstone and weatherboard barn with a modern country look. The accommodation comprises of double bedroom, lounge/kitchen/diner, bathroom with shower over and entrance hall. Cot and highchair are provided on request. There is a patio area in each garden with patio furniture. Disposable BBQs are provided.
Electricity and heating are included and bed linen and towels are provided free of charge. The kitchens are fully equipped with full size electric cooker, microwave and fridge and there is a television and video in the lounge. A NO SMOKING policy is followed in the cottages and one dog is free of charge (second dog by arrangement). Weekly charges are from £240.00 to £360.00 and weeks run Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks are also available. Tea and biscuits are provided on arrival.
The Cottages are centrally located for Chester, The Potteries, Ironbridge Gorge, RAF Cosford, Shrewsbury and Wales. Events include Wem Sweet Pea in July, Shrewsbury Flower Show in August, West Midlands Agricultural Show in June and the Ludlow Festival in June/July. Hawkstone Park golf club and follies are just 4 miles away.

The cottages are to be found 7 miles north of Shrewsbury. Follow A49 (N) towards Whitchurch. In village of Preston Brockhurst the A49 turns sharply right. Bear left at this bend (signposted for Clive) past the BT phone box. After 1 mile and at the crest of a bank you will see a left turn (Corbet Wood Picnic Area). Take this turn, after 1/2 mile down this single track road there is an unmade lane on your left (signposted "Vehicles access to frontages only") take this turn.
